Tour up Tiger Mountain

The Northern Rangers decided today to prove our trip up Tiger Mountain with a video tour of the mountain. We are still training for our June 6th trip up Mount St. Helens. For training we've been climbing the mountain. Today we got soaked, pelted with snow, hit fog and ran into a very muddy, mucky and slush covered trail. But it was great adventure.

What to wear on a snow hike

Western Washington has been getting a lot of snow lately. So two of the three Northern Rangers decided to head up to the summit of Tiger Mountain. It was a great hike and there was about 8-10 inches of snow at the top.

Casey talks about how to properly dress for a hike in the snow. It can mean the difference between having a great time on the trip and a miserable one.

Introducing the Northern Rangers

Many of you know that Brandon and myself used to write an article for the Eastern Washington University school paper called, "Eastern Rangers."

Well, today we introduce videos on the Just South of North Web site. And since Eastern Rangers just doesn't have the same appeal with our new Web site name, we proudly introduce the "Northern Rangers."

Today's video was shot at the summit of Tiger Mountain. Tiger Mountain is just east of Seattle down I-90. The summit is 2,522 feet high and the trail we took is just about three miles to the top.
