Tyler Farrar interview in Portland

Tyler Farrar, of Wenatchee, Washington, was in Upper Echelon Fitness in Portland. Here's a video from the interview:

Farrar's season will start in January 2011 with the Tour Down Under. Which is the opening event of the 2011 ProTour season.

Farrar, who is with Garmin Transitions, was a stage winner in the Giro d'Italia and Spanish Vuelta last season. The event runs from Jan. 16-23.

Farrar joins Lance Armstrong in the field. The seven-time Tour de France winner will compete in the event for the third straight year.

The race will be Armstrong's last professional event outside the United States.

These Lance Armstrong RadioShack commercials have been playing for a while now, but I just saw the LOL one today for the first time. I think they are pretty funny. Hope you enjoy.

Black RadioShack 28 jersey

In case you missed the news about the Tour de France, on the final day of the race, Team RadioShack came out not wearing their normal kits. Instead they were wearing black RadioShack jerseys with the number 28 on the back.

The 28 stood for the 28 million people worldwide that are battling cancer.

Rules are rules and Team RadioShack was forced to change into their normal kits. But it was too late, the publicity stunt was complete and everyone was talking about those black 28 jerseys.

Well RadioShack just announced that you will soon be able to purchase your own. Through the teams website. The jerseys will be available in August.

2010 Tour de France preview

The Tour de France starts tomorrow. The countdown begins. Check out this awesome preview from Versus. If this doesn't get you pumped up for the Tour then I don't know what will. But one thing is for sure, the yellow jersey is up for grabs this year.

Lance Armstrong's final Tour de France

Today Lance Armstrong sent out a Tweet that had a lot of meaning in it.

lancearmstrong: And yes, this will be final Tour de France. It’s been a great ride. Looking forward to three great weeks.

Noticing a spelling error, he then added: Doh, sorry, meant “my” final Tour.

The seven-time Tour de France winner, who is 38, will lead his RadioShack teammates in the Tour which starts on Saturday.

Monday’s announcement comes just one month after the Texan found himself embroiled in new doping allegations, dismissing accusations leveled by his former teammate Floyd Landis.

Landis, who was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France title after a positive drug test, pointed the finger at numerous cyclists, including Armstrong. Armstrong was quick to attack Landis’ credibility.

Armstrong beat cancer in 1998, then went on to win seven consecutive yellow jerseys from 1999-2005. He then retired, but then returned to the sport last year. Armstrong placed third at the 2009 Tour.

This year he finished second in the Tour of Switzerland and third in the Tour of Luxembourg. He crashed out of the Tour of California on home soil in May.

Armstrong will line up at this year’s Tour with a team that includes former Tour runner-up Andreas Klöden of Germany, Americans Levi Leipheimer and Chris Horner, plus several other experienced stage race campaigners.

Saw this video on the Team Radioshack site today. I thought it was pretty funny. The Tour de France runs from Saturday July 3rd to Sunday July 25th 2010. This is the 97th Tour de France and will be made up of 1 prologue and 20 stages. It will cover a total distance of 3,600 kilometres.

Armstrong crashes out of Tour of California

The picture above this posted by the AmgenTourofCali twitter page. It shows Lance Armstrong minutes after crashing. You can see his face is tore up and his jersey and bib too.

Armstrong's longtime coach Johan Bruyneel had this to say on his twitter:

Sorry to report there was a huge crash, with Chechu and Lance involved. Lance had to abandon and is going to the hospital for Xrays.

We now have to huge things to look for, A. the seriousness of Armstrong's injuries and B. how his exit of the Tour of California will affect the rest of Team Radioshack.
